## Answer

College and university portals often cap transcripts, essays, and forms at 1–5 MB (sometimes less). Compress locally with Keep text when possible so staff can still select text.

## Limits

- Follow the exact MB/KB on the application checklist.
- Scanned transcripts may need OCR after aggressive shrink.

## FAQ

### Common university PDF size limits?

Many sit at 1–2 MB or 5 MB. When unspecified, under 2 MB is a safe start.

### Does this upload my application?

No. You compress here, then upload to the university yourself.

### UK / US / India portals?

Same tool — match the portal’s stated limit with Target size.
