How to combine lecture notes into one PDF

Weekly slides and phone photos of the board pile up as separate files. One merged PDF is easier to search, share with a study group, or upload when a portal wants a single attachment.

Use Merge for existing PDFs. Use Images to PDF when notes are photos. Then OCR if you need search on scans.

Step by step

  1. 1Collect unlocked PDFs or clear photos of your notes.
  2. 2For PDFs: open Merge, add files, drag into lecture order, merge, download.
  3. 3For photos: open Images to PDF, add images, reorder, build, download.
  4. 4Optional: run OCR PDF so Ctrl+F works on scanned pages.

Keep originals

Merging creates a new file. Keep source PDFs until you confirm the combined copy is complete — especially before deleting phone photos.

Limits

  • Handwriting OCR is unreliable; typed or printed slides work better.
  • Large photo batches may need a laptop rather than a phone.
  • Follow academic integrity rules when sharing notes.
