About this tool
Shrink a PDF in your browser. Keep-text (default) preserves selectable text; max-shrink rasterizes for smaller files and restores a searchable overlay.
How to use Compress PDF
- 1Open the PDF you want to shrink.
- 2Choose Keep text (recommended) or Max shrink.
- 3For max shrink, pick Low / Medium / High (or custom DPI), then Compress and download.

Honest limits
- Keep text rebuilds the PDF with object streams and strips metadata — vectors and selectable text stay intact.
- Max shrink rasterizes pages; original text positions are overlaid as near-invisible searchable text when available.
- Already-small text PDFs may not shrink much (or can grow slightly).
