Usually no. After you open a PDF, mypdf keeps it in a browser session so other tools can continue with that same file. Closing the tab clears it — nothing is stored on our servers.

There is no server quota, but your browser’s memory is the limit. Very large or image-heavy PDFs can feel slow or fail on low-RAM devices.

Yes by default — Keep text preserves selectable text. Max shrink rasterizes pages and restores a searchable overlay when text exists.

How do I prepare a confidential PDF?

Use Privacy scanner, then Auto-redact PII, or run Confidential Send for scan/redact, strip metadata, CONFIDENTIAL watermark, and encrypt in one local pass. Always review every page before sharing.

Is redaction permanent?

Yes. After you apply redaction, covered regions are flattened to black in the downloaded file and are not recoverable from that export. Auto-redact PII only catches common patterns.

No. Sign PDF places an image of your signature. It is not a cryptographic certificate.
