How to compress a PDF before emailing a client

Client proposals and scanned contracts often bounce on attachment caps. Compress locally: Keep text first, then Target size toward ~20 MB for a 25 MB mailbox ceiling.
For confidential work, compress is not enough — redact and encrypt when the content requires it.
Step by step
- 1Open Compress PDF with the client file.

- 3If needed, set Target size under your email provider’s real limit.

Client trust
Tell clients (when relevant) that you processed the file locally. Upload-based compressors are a poor default for contracts and IDs.

- Impossible size targets are reported rather than faked.
- Print quality drops first when rasterizing scans.
